Capital Sound: Adalia Jimenez Knocks the National Anthem Out of the Ballpark by Mike Spain

The Washington Nationals are a baseball team full of young talent like the 19 year-old sensation Bryce Harper and pitching ace Stephen Strasburg. However, when you go to a baseball game not all of the young talent plays the sport. Sunday night when I watched the Nationals take on the Philadelphia Phillies on ESPN’s MLB Game of the Week – there was another teen sensation performing, but this time before the game began.

Adalia Jimenez

Adalia Jimenez is a young phenom in her own right. She is just fourteen years-old but already has performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. She has starred at Toby’s Dinner Theatre in Baltimore and performed at The  Music Center at Strathmore. Adalia has sung the National Anthem several times for the Washington Nationals, the Washington Wizards, the Frederick Keys, and at other events in the Washington area.

One of her most recent acting performance was starring as Annie in Annie at Toby’s Dinner Theatre in Baltimore. The show was a hit and her performance garnered raves. Adalia has performed on smaller stages, performed in talent shows, and competitions such as “Cupcake Idol.”

I am confident that Adalia Jimenez will have a bright musical future and is a name to keep an eye on. Jimenez lives in Maryland and chances are she will be performing on a stage in the area very soon.

In the DC Metro area great music can be found anywhere – even at a a sporting event – so keep your ears open for that wonderful Capital Sound.
