There’s a New Look at Olney Theatre Center by Heather Latiri

Last night, to honor its 75th Anniversary Season, Olney Theatre Center unveiled it’s new logo and branding.

The new identity and branding of the Olney Theatre Center coincides with the institution’s 75th anniversary and the arrival of Martin Platt as Artistic Director. “‘Our new logo and branding, so beautifully developed by our friends at AKA, shows Olney Theatre Center looking to the future while celebrating its storied 75 year history. We’ve added a bit of color and a bit of excitement to our look,” Platt said.

Further distilling the logo (O!) serves as a recognizable and versatile branding element. Developing cohesive branding across all communications will make Olney Theatre Center’s presence in the DC.-area market more visible than ever before. This new identity looks boldly to the future of this historic institution.

Olney Theatre Center’s 2013 season brochure cover dons the slogan “Maryland’s newest theatre is also Maryland’s oldest theatre!” which captures the institution’s commitment in reinvigorating its season, as well as new initiatives in music presentation and other special events to come. Olney Theatre Center will continue to work with aka NYC throughout the year as they work to rebrand their national touring company, National Players.
