‘The Brontes’ Plays through November 18th at FallFringe by Debra Buonaccorsi & Steve McWilliams

Dizzy Miss Lizzie’s Roadside Revue, is back with there 2012 Capital Fringe hit THE BRONTES. Dizzy Miss Lizzie has brought audiences to their feet with productions of Finn McCool, The Oresteia, and The Saints. This summer, DMLRR journeyed to the land of the moors and an English family of romantic authors with their latest creation, THE BRONTES. An exciting blend of rock and roll, English poetry and the traditions of American music and storytelling, the production was a standout hit with both critics and audiences. THE BRONTES features music and lyrics by Debra Buonaccorsi and Steve McWillams, a book by Debra Buonaccorsi and is directed by Rick Hammerly, Helen Hayes Award-winning actor, director, and Artistic Director of Factory 449.

“DMLRR is thrilled to be back for fallFringe,” stated Debra Buonaccorsi and Steve McWilliams “THE BRONTES has our signature style, but also some new elements that heighten the Dizzy experience. The original goth girls of literature have inspired 14 new songs in a wide range of styles that we have written. And if you’ve ever wanted to see Charlotte Bronte pick up a guitar and rock out, then this is the show for you.”

Rick Hammerly directed this production and has been able to expand on its esthetic. Gone is the tent and the heat, replaced with a funky old theater space that lends it self to great sound. Finally you can hear every word being spoken and sung on stage. “The noise of the outdoor tent is gone. The troupe envelopes you in their world.”

Greg Stevens adds amazing atmosphere with his scenic design making you feel as if you have entered another world, a Dizzy world. While the lighting design of Joseph wells brings atmosphere that only helps to enhance the story in a way that cannot be done in the tent space.

The whole cast has returned and they are ready to rock your world. Come see us!
