Washington Savoyards presents Maryland-based production company ArtsCentric’s premiere of an original musical entitled Delilah in a semi-staged reading on Monday January 14th at the Atlas Performing Arts Center (1333 H Street NE Washington, DC 20002). ArtsCentric’s Artistic Director Kevin S. McAllister is credited for writing the book and CEO Cedric D. Lyles the music.

Delilah is the compelling age-old tale ofSamson and Delilah told through the eyes of the story’s antagonist, Delilah. It will feature a cast of local all-stars including Jamie Eacker (Delilah), Chris Sizemore (Samson), and Felicia Curry (Psoirah). (The Cast: Kelli Blackwell, Ricardo Blagrove, Celia Blitzer, Mary Kate Brouillet, Austin Colby, Nathan Cooney, Crystal Freeman, Ashley Johnson, Ashleigh King, Nicholas Lehan, David Little, Shayla Lowe, Darren McDonnell, and Christopher Rudy).

“Nearly four years ago, we decided to take our creative instincts and put together our ideal musical theater show: Delilah,” says Lyles. Kevin McAllister, most recently billed as Assistant Director for FLY at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC, will also direct the semi-staged reading of the new musical. Although the work is Lyles & McAllister’s first official musical, they planned and sketched out the road map for Lyles’ The Black Nativity (December 2011), and are planning to write a song cycle once Delilah is completed.
