SHOW DETAILS:
One Night in New York is the story of a gay kid from Iowa looking for his first hookup in NYC. Aided by a fabulous fairy godmother, he searches New York for a hottie and finds more than he expected. Yes, there will be a Grinder production number!

AUDITION DETAILS:
Saturday, May 4th from 12-4pm
Sunday, May 5th from 2-5pm
Callbacks on an as-needed basis

LOCATION:
Church of the Holy City

Auditions in basement. Enter through the doors on the right side of the sanctuary.

For the auditions, please prepare 16 bars of an uptempo song (Broadway preferred) and a one-minute comedic monologue and two copies of your headshot and résumé. Accompanist provided. You may be asked to read from the script. Please also be prepared for a short dance/movement audition.

Audition slots will be assigned in 10-minute intervals on a first-come, first-served basis.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
Seeking performers of all races, ethnicities, and types
All roles are open and paid.

Michael: Male, early 20’s. Principal singing role; tenor/high baritone. Plucky young, sexually inexperienced gay boy from Iowa.
The Cock Fairy: Male, mid-30’s to late 40’s. Principal singing role; seeking baritone with strong falsetto, other voice types also considered. Drag queen version of Glenda the Good Witch; a bit jaded.
Andy: Male, mid-20s. Obnoxious scenester.
Robby: Male, early 20’s. Amiable twink.
Bobby: Male, early 20’s. Amiable twink.
Steve: Male, mid- to late 20’s. Wholesome guy from Chicago.
Mom: Female, 50’s to 60’s but could be played by an actress in her 20’s or 30’s. Kind, chatty lady from the heartland. Does not sing or dance.
Additional chorus of 3-5 men: The Men of New York. 20’s and 30’s. Will play multiple roles including a Sailor, a Cabbie, Michael’s Dad, Downtown Hipsters, Chelsea Gym Queens, a Leather Dominatrix, Drunk Guys, and Grindr Boys.

REHEARSALS
Rehearsals will start around May 20th. An exact rehearsal schedule is TBD and will have some flexibility with actors’ schedules.
