One Night in New York! tells the story of Michael, a 23-year old gay kid from Iowa who’s never kissed a boy. Desperate for a hook up, he travels to New York City and meets a fabulous fairy godmother. They scour New York for a hottie and both find more than they bargained for.

Classic Broadway musicals like On the Town and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying are among the many inspirations for writer/composer Eric Tipler.  Tipler has worked in music, theater, and dance performances at the Lincoln Center Festival, Belgian National Opera, and the Salzburg Festival (Austria). One Night in New York! is his first musical.

While One Night in New York! may be set in present day, its music will take you back to the days of Rogers & Hammerstein. But don’t be fooled by its Golden Age sound. One Night in New York! takes its audience on a journey through today’s gay neighborhoods of NYC, complete with show-stopping production numbers featuring fairies and bear cubs and twinks – oh my!

Craig Cipollini will choreograph and direct. Cipollini began his career as a chorus boy and since has gone on to stage DC’s amazing Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington. Cipollini’s immense talents will steer the helm of an incredible crew of 12 dancing and singing men.

Audiences will recognize this terrific ensemble from DC theatre powerhouses, such as Studio Theatre, Synetic Theatre, Keegan Theatre, Washington Savoyards, and Source Festival. Starring newcomer Paul Luckenbaugh and local theatre veteran Ryan Patrick Welsh, the cast of One Night in New York! also includes Matthew Begin, Darius Epps, Pasquale Guiducci, John Jackson, Peyton Lynch, Logan Sutherland, Richard Weinberg, Rick Westerkamp, and Charles Wright.

Belle Epoque Productions and the New Musical Foundation will co-present One Night in New York! at its Capital Fringe Festival World premiere. One Night in New York! promises to dance its way into the hearts of our nation’s capital, one Grindr production number at a time!
