That is trapped on this dust speck and knows not what to do!

You try rhyming that big word, it’s much too tasking!
Ok, it’s Seussical! The Musical! Where Seuss’s fantastical characters leap to life from the page
Presented by Damascus Theatre Company at Olney Theatre Center on their History Stage!
With Carol Boyle and Elli Swink doing the Costume Design
The entire cast ends up looking tremendously fine!
With bright popping colors of green pink and orange for the girls that play birds
Their costumes are amazing, wildly creative, too incredible for words.
Boyle and Swink do something extraordinary for this Wickersham Brothers
They give them letterman jackets, making them edgier than all the others.
And the set! Oh the set! Designed by Mr. Bill Brown
Why he’s created the most splendiferous set in the town!
With whimsy and fantasy all rolled up into one
It’s the epitome of Seuss and its such great fun—
To look at and to watch all the characters play on it
It’s really just stunning and that’s all I can say for it.
Musical Director Arielle Bayer brings quite the talent to this show
All her singers can be heard loud and clear, just so you know.
With real swinging beats Bayer engages the chorus
For the big show numbers so that they don’t bore us!
“Oh The Things You Can Think!” and “Biggest Blame Fool!”
Are the best company numbers in this jungle of Nool.
And a job most amazing does Director Rachelle A. Horn
Her cast is a smash hit, under her wing new talent is born!
With company veteran Jason Damaso playing Whoville’s Mr. Mayor
Accompanied by Mayor’s wife (Tiffany Broadus) when they send up their prayer
It sounds desperate and frustrated when they sing their duet
“How to Raise a Child” they’re as talented as adults get.
Yes Damaso and Broadus have quite the relationship together on stage
Their leading “Here On Who” is fantastic, all the rage!
Let’s not forget the Grinch (Rob Milanich) whose appearance is momentary
Or General Schmitz (Ron Schwartz) whose barking is scary!
Both Milanich and Schwartz have brief minor roles
But achieve great success with their lofty high goals.
Those Wickersham Brothers, Nick Cox, Connor Lugo-Harris, and Matt Kopp
Are so mean to Horton, that they really should be stopped!
Lugo-Harris is their vocal leader with a sound pure and loud
During “Monkey Around” he really pleases the crowd.
The Bird Girls (Megan May, Suzy Patton, and Natalie Peigari) are sweet
When they solo in “Egg, Nest, and Tree,” it’s really a treat!
The big bird on campus, Amanda Spellman plays Mayzie
And this girl’s voice is anything but lazy
She belts and she boasts and she’s the character with sass
Spellman’s wild attitude shows that she’s got the brass
To belt out numbers like “Amayzing Mayzie”
Her voice is her namesake, and no, I’m not crazy.
The only other belter who can challenge her belting powers too
Is Miss Lee Michele Rosenthal playing Mrs. Sour Kangaroo.
Rosenthal has a belt that will blow off the roof!
In her solo in “Biggest Blame Fool” and I say that’s the truth!
Helped by Elaina Luzquinos playing Young Kangaroo
When they sing together you can hear them in Kalamazoo!
We’re almost finished, just four more remain
In this wonderful production with a rhyme in its name.
There’s Leah Schwartz playing Gertrude McFuzz
And this young lady should be proud of all that she does.
With a voice like a true songbird and a heart filled with gold
She simply wows the audience and saves Horton from the cold.
“Notice Me, Horton,” and “All For You” are her two big solo songs
And Horton joins her in the first one, their voices match like they belong.
Together Schwartz and Keith Tittermary, who plays Horton the Elephant
Make quite the perfect couple, in this fantasy musical dance.
Tittermary has a voice that is pure and strong and deep
His song “Alone in the Universe” will make the audience weep
It’s a duet, of course, with Caitlyn Shea Gilbert, who plays Jojo
And together they make harmonies sweet and sad, high and low.
Now Gilbert is a wonder, especially with all of her wild thinks!
Imaginative and creative, taking her character to the brink!
With a wonderful voice for “It’s Possible” a duet with The Cat
Who is played by Elizabeth Hester, who of course is wearing a hat.
Miss Hester is the cat’s meow, truly a singing sensation.
With presentational showmanship to be recognized across the nation.
Hester rolls through all the numbers with panache and a great flare!
Why I tell you, this Cat in the Hat, will let you know she’s there!
Oh the fun you will have at this Seussical story if only you get up and go
