1101 Wilson Blvd, in Arlington, VA 22209
In a visually inspired, one-man micro-epic performance pieceThe Adventures of Alvin Sputnik: Deep Sea Explorer, Artisphere brings Australian writer Tim Watts’ multi-award-winning solo show to the D.C.- area for the first time—for a run of six performances—from Thursday, February 6th to Sunday, February 9th.
In a highly imaginative fusion of animation, puppetry, projections, live and recorded music, master storyteller Sam Longley will tell the tale of Alvin Sputnik, deep sea explorer, and the search for his lost love in the seemingly endless depths of the ocean.
Blending technology and multi-media into a touching story set in a post-eco apocalyptic world, Longley tells the story of love, loss and quiet heroism with engaging energy and enchanting magic.
All ages—young and old, adults and children—will delight in the romance of Sputnik’s broken-hearted journey through the underwater world.
Presented by The Last Great Hunt of Australia, The Adventures of Alvin Sputnik: Deep Sea Explorer has been performed more than 300 times across the world, including Korea, China, New Zealand, America, Canada and the U.K.
