Barbara Bear, audience member and theatre patron extraordinaire was awarded the 2014 Gary Lee Maker Award by DC Theatre Scene. She joins past winners David Tannous (2011) in Tom Holzman and Alison Drucker (2012), and last year’s recipient Linda Elyse Bryce (2013).

I am thrilled that Barbara received the award because when I go in the theater there is a very good chance that I will see Barbara Bear there. And most of the time there she is. And what I enjoy most when I see her is to catch up with her about her many theater outings.
Congrats Barbara on receiving the Gary Lee Maker Award. Gary would have been so thrilled that you won. Gary was so passionate about the theater just like you. You are an inspiration to all of us who cover our local theatre and arts scene and it’s always a pleasure seeing you ‘out there.’ So I want to thank you and send you a hearty Mazel Tov from the staff of DCMetroTheaterArts.
