Open Auditions for Ages 18 and Up – All Ethnicities Encouraged to Attend
Arts Collective proudly announces auditions for its April/May production of Eat the Runt, a play by Avery Crozier, directed by Susan G. Kramer.
Casting:
Auditions are open to actors ages 18 and up – The cast includes 8 characters; men and women. All roles are open and non-paid; all ethnicities are encouraged to audition.
Auditions Dates and Times:
Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16.
3:00 pm – 4:30 pm and 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm
in HCC’s HVPA Room 115.

Rehearsal Commitment –

– Rehearsals begin the first week of February, 2015
– Rehearsal schedule will be determined after the casting process, based oncast/ management availability.
Performance Commitment – April 17 – May 3, 2015

About the Author:
Avery Crozier’s EAT THE RUNT was honored in the 2001 Top 10 Off-Broadway Plays listing by the New York Daily News. In 1996 Avery was one of the writers for Endangered Species, a monologue play presented at the Interact Theater in North Hollywood as a part of its Interactivity Festival. In PISHTACO and WALKING TO BUCHENWALD, Avery’s second and third full-length plays, Avery once again exploits and temporal nature of theater with non-gender-specific roles that can be cast male or female

About the Director:
Susan G. Kramer has been a part of HCC’s Arts Collective since its inception in 1995. Over the past three decades Kramer has worked in the Baltimore area as director, designer and performer; venues include Catonsville Community College, Fell’s Point Theatre (on S. Broadway), Dundalk Community Theatre, Vagabond Players, Spotlighters Theatre, Fell’s Point Corner Theatre, Howard Community College and Rep Stage, etc. Kramer’s most recent and relevant AC accomplishment; spearheading HCC’s AC partnership with Steppenwolf West and Alexandra Billings, offering intensives in Viewpoints and improvisation (2008-present). Most recently she directed Silhouette Stages’ production of Rent, which Baltimore Theatre Guide nominated her as best director of a musical and was honored as best director of a musical for DC Metro Theatre Arts. Kramer currently directs (and has directed since 2008) “What Improv Group?!?!” W.I.G. is AC’s underground improv group and recently performed for the Columbia Festival of the Arts as well as the Baltimore Improv Festival. Other notable productions directed include Angels In America, Peter Pan, Dracula, A Streetcar Named Desire, Pippin, Noises Off, The Foreigner, The Crucible, and many others. In 1985, Valerie Lash (HCC’s Arts and Humanities Dean) invited Kramer to direct HCC’s production of The Dining Room; a project which initiated Kramer’s 20-plus year career in the arts at HCC and was the seedling from which the Arts Collective sprang (from the ground up). Entering its 20th Season, AC is now a professionally run organization all about supporting, nurturing and fusing collaborative relationships with all artists from students to professionals and in between. At HCC, Kramer has taught courses in acting, Speech, Improvisation, and the Viewpoints as well as mentored/led/produced many workshops, independent study programs, and internships (auditions, improv, dance, musical theatre, technical theatre, design, etc.).
