Yvonne French To Report From U.S. Institute of Theater Technology’s 55th Annual Conference & Stage Expo

Stay tuned next Wednesday, March 18, 2015, as DCMetroTheaterArts technology reporter Yvonne French travels to Cincinnati to cover the U.S. Institute of Theater Technology’s 55th Annual Conference & Stage Expo.

“Most audiences at a performance don’t stop to consider everything it takes to get to that point. The performance is just the tip of the entertainment iceberg. So much creativity and hard work go into scenes, lighting, costumes, sound, make-up, stage managing, and the performance area itself not to mention keeping everyone safe,” said Barbara E.R. Lucas, Communications Director of USITT.

Next Wednesday, March 18, 2015, look for coverage of the following USITT sessions:

  • How to set up a rental program for costumes, props and lighting equipment
  • Unconventional relationships for finding funding: public, not-for-profit and for-profit entities
  • Immersive production: audience and performance blending

Every day of the March 18-21, 2015 USITT Conference, we will feature one new product and one new way to use older technology for all the hard-working theater technicians in metro Washington DC and the many fine actors out there who also do tech. We know some Technical Directors who think you’re the greatest!
