2015 Capital Fringe Preview #10 ‘315’ by JP Sisneros

“From 1932 to 2004 an estimated number of 250 people jumped off the George Washington Bridge. From 2004 to 2010, an average of 6 people jumped. In 2011, 10 people, and 2012, 18 people. Which leaves us a total of 314 people. 314 people whose lives were taken on that bridge. I could have been 315.” This is a spoken by one of the characters in the play 315 receiving its world premiere this summer at the Capital Fringe Festival!

The show centers on four college students in New York. Who are really just trying to figure out who they are and pretty much what their place is in this world. The play is  semi-autobiographical. Where each character in the show represents a different aspect of the playwright’s, well my life. These aspects include some my artistic endeavors, my struggles with sexuality, and how I dealt with depression. These aspects of my life come together in a story that’s thought provoking and warm hearted.

315 features multiple monologues that are taken from journal entries that I wrote while dealing with my own depression. These add a really great real world dynamic that aids the play.

We also chose to perform the show in the round adding that level of intimacy between the actors and the audience.

Produced by THE Theatre Company, 315 features a company of actors and production team who are recent graduates from the Catholic University Benjamin T. Rome School of Music. Members of the company include Producer/Playwright Jp Sisneros, Director Sarah Frances Hope Williams, Associate Director Dani Ebbin, Stage Manager Emily Sobieski, with actors Philip Da Costa, Allie O’Donnell, Kelly Ohanian, Molly Janiga, and Sarah Catherine Welsh.
