Young Artists of America is pleased to announce our upcoming 2015-2016 season, during which YAA will be celebrating its 5th Anniversary!

YAA LOG LONG

As you will read below, we have many exciting educational and performance opportunities coming up for our students. We hope that you will consider auditioning for, attending or supporting one or all of our great events during our upcoming season, our biggest and most ambitious yet!

Upcoming Auditions

Audition Registration is now open for Jekyll & Hyde in Concert. Auditions will take place in just a few weeks on September 10 & 12.

Please visit our Auditions Page to learn more about the auditions coming up for all of our productions and events.

Mainstage Performances

On Saturday, November 14, 2015, we will present Frank Wildhorn’s sweeping, gothic musical: Jekyll & Hyde in Concert.  The performance will feature the score’s lush orchestrations and powerful melodies such as Someone like you, A new life and

This is the moment.

YAA vocalists as well as the YAA orchestra will be featured at the beautiful Dekelboum Concert Hall at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at The University of Maryland, College Park.

In the spring, we will continue our unique mission to bring world class performing artists to work with our students.

On Sunday, March 13, 2016, we will presenting the epic, inspirational musical: Children of Eden with the famed composer himself, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, and Prince of Egypt) as Guest Mentor. The production will feature our YAA orchestra, vocal ensemble as well a guest children’s chorus, all directed by acclaimed NY stage director, Noah Himmelstein.

We are thrilled to add Stephen to the list of incredible Guest Mentors that our students have had the chance to work with closely, including Jason Robert Brown, Jeanine Tesori, and Anthony McGill, to name a few.

Educational Events

YAA is reprising our very popular Audition Intensive Workshops again this fall, during which Musical Theatre and Classical Singers can try out their college audition repertoire before a panel of university educators and professional artists.

Confirmed panelists include Daniel Rakowski (Producer of Broadway’s On the Town), as well as representatives from various local university music programs, including Peabody Conservatory, American University, and The Catholic University.

Parents of participants and auditors will also have a chance for a Q&A session with the panel to be able to discuss questions and concerns about applying to university music programs.

Each session is limited to only 7 participants, so don’t wait to sign up for this very useful workshop! Students who are not quite at the point of college auditions can also sign up as Auditors and can sit and learn from the participating students.

16 Summer Camp

After a wildly successful camp held this past July, we are thrilled to announce our dates for our annual 2016 Musical Theatre Intensive Summer Camp: July 16-29, 2016

Students aged 13-18 will again have the opportunity to participate either as Day Campers or as Overnight INTENSIVE Campers. All Campers will participate in daytime classes, and Overnight Campers will live on campus to take part in a fully mounted production of a popular musical.
