SeeNoSun OnStage will open a four-week run of Bug, Tracy Letts’ tale of love, loss and government conspiracy on October 8th, 2015 at the Anacostia Arts Center. Bug is the second play written by the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning author of August: Osage County.

“This playwright’s gritty brand of dramatic, black comedy is not for the faint of heart,” said SeeNoSun’s Founding Artistic Director Michael Wright. “The enthusiastic response to our production of Tracy Letts’ first play, Killer Joe, proved there is an audience in DC that wants to see shows like Bug,” added Wright, who is also directing the play. “This is a powerful love story wrapped inside a horrific thriller that is more relevant today than when it was written almost 20 years ago.”

In the play, a lonely bartender haunted by the disappearance of her young son falls for a disturbed drifter. The awkward romance takes a dysfunctional turn when their trashy roadside motel room becomes infested with bugs that only they can see. Shared delusions unravel into insanity as this psychological pressure cooker builds to an explosive climax.
