This Sunday, after the September 18th matinee performance of The Mystery of Edwin Drood there will be a post-show discussion with the MetalDrood team and acclaimed mystery novelist Rupert Holmes, Drood’s Tony Award-winning playwright-composer-lyricist.

Holmes is an entertainment Renaissance man, with a descriptor that includes mystery novelist-playwright-composer-arranger-screenwriter-conductor-singer-songwriter. As a pop tunesmith, perhaps his best known hit is the multi-platinum Billboard #1 “Escape” (Pina Colada song). As a novelist, Holmes has twice been presented with the “Edgar,” the equivalent of an Oscar of the Mystery Writers of America. His playwriting has earned him Tony nominations and awards. An extended biography is available here.

With a new symphonic metal score, approved by Holmes, the Landless Theatre Company presents The Mystery of Edwin Drood at the Arts Barn on select dates through September 25, 2016. The musical is hosted by Arts on The Green, Gaithersburg’s premier center for the performing and visual arts. The Arts Barn is located at 311 Kent Square Road. Admission is $25. This show is recommended for ages 12 and older.
