DC Mega Hits Dear Evan Hansen and Come From Away were honored at last night’s Tony Awards. The shows had sold-out runs at Arena Stage and Ford’s Theatre.
Dear Evan Hansen was victorious in six categories, including Best Musical. Justin Paul and Benj Pasek were honored for Best Original Score, while Ben Platt took home the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical for his amazing performance as Evan Hansen.
Other winners included Rachel Bay Jones who won for Best Performance by an Actress in Featured Role a Musical for her emotional performance as his mother. Alex Lacamoirer was honored for Best Orchestrations.
Christopher Ashley was honored for his direction for Come From Away.
