Best Medicine Rep Presents ‘New Plays/New Voices’: A Festival of Plays by Students, (Gaithersburg, MD, April 21)

Join Best Medicine Rep this Saturday at 1 pm for a free and funny celebration of arts education! New Plays/ New Voices, a second annual festival of work written by Montgomery County Public School students. Each play was written under a grant from the Maryland State Arts Council with Best Medicine Rep’s Artistic Director John Morogiello. The plays will be performed by professional actors Terence Aselford, Claire Derriennic, Ashton Fortune, Bob Harbaum, Davon Harris, Terence Heffernan, Deborah Lubega, and Lynn Sharp Spears. Works performed will include:
AARON JUDGE: A Modern Tall Tale
by Dana Whitman’s 5th grade class
Potomac Elementary School
SPLIT/ROCKER: A Comedy on Art, Theft, and Potato Chips
by Kimberly Leichtling’s 4th grade class
Dr. Charles R. Drew Elementary School
WILLIAM DAWES: Unsung Hero
by Theresa Friis’ 5th grade class
Chevy Chase Elementary School
LYDIA BARRINGTON DARRAGH: Revolutionary Spy
by Josephine Luster’s 5th grade class

New Plays/New Voices, presented by Best Medicine Rep, performs Saturday, April 21 at 1 pm at Lakeforest Mall’s Center Court, 701 Russell Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD. The event is free and open to the public.
