Theatre Week Is Just a Few Weeks Away

$15 & $35 Tickets to Over 20 Professional Productions and Free Special Events!

WASHINGTON, DC – August 14 – theatreWashington today announced plans for Theatre Week 2018, a three-week celebration that will offer $15 and $35 tickets to over 20 productions, a free Kickoff Party, and other free special events.

This celebration of Washington’s theatre scene – unquestionably one of the best in the country, with a vast array of theatres offering quality performances – includes musicals, dramas, comedies, and theatre for young audiences. Details are available at TheatreWeek.org, and tickets are available for purchase through the TodayTix app and website.

“Theatre Week gives access to the array of professional theatres in the Washington area and it’s a wonderful opportunity to spread the word about what’s here,” said Amy Austin, theatreWashington’s President and CEO. “Try something new—go to a contemporary production if you’re generally a classics fan, see a new play if you’re accustomed to musicals. We’re lowering the cost to entice people to take a chance. And most importantly, increase access and inclusion to the outstanding work on our stages.”

As theatreWeek’s official ticketing partner, TodayTix continues its longstanding partnership with theatreWashington with the united effort of making theater widely accessible to all. Audiences will be able to use the TodayTix app and website to purchase tickets from participating Theatre Week theatres, gaining access to more than 20 discounted productions and the free Kickoff Party.

“We’re proud to partner with theatreWashington to support and celebrate Washington-area theater,” said Brian Fenty, Co-Founder and CEO of TodayTix. “Making theater accessible to anyone who wants to enjoy it is at the core of our mission, and Theatre Week is a wonderful initiative that not only provides this access but helps audiences discover the diverse and exciting theatrical offerings DC has to offer.”

Theatres participating in the ticket discounts for Theatre Week 2018 are: 1st Stage, Adventure Theatre MTC, Annapolis Shakespeare Company, Arena Stage, Folger Theatre, Ford’s Theatre, GALA Hispanic Theatre, The In Series, The Klunch, The Lab for Global Performance and Politics, Mosaic Theater Company, Olney Theatre Center, Rainbow Theatre Project, Rep Stage, Round House Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Signature Theatre, Studio Theatre, Synetic Theater, Taffety Punk Theatre Company, Theater J, and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.
