Broadway Podcast Network (BPN) – offering a wide range of premiere digital programming in theater and the performing arts, with all-star hosts, actors, storytellers, producers, writers, and other show-biz luminaries – is launching a new series tonight called “My First Show.” Featuring lively interviews with favorites from the entertainment industry, the podcast is hosted by three-time Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Eva Price (recently named to the inaugural list of Crain’s Notable LGBTQ Leaders and Executives), whose credits include Jagged Little Pill, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, Oklahoma!, What the Constitution Means to Me, and many more.
Price began her career in politics and journalism, spending five years with ABC News as an assignment editor and coordinating producer. But as a long-time theater-lover, who grew up attending musical-theater camp and as many Broadway musicals and touring productions as possible, the theater remained her true passion. She left her job at ABC News in 2005, to pursue her dream of life as an acclaimed producer of Broadway plays, musicals, and concerts.
On each weekly episode, scheduled for every Tuesday at 7 pm (in honor of the first performance day of a traditional week of theater), Price will speak with a different personality, framing the discussion around four questions: What was the first show you saw? What was the first show you were in? What was your first professional show? If you could be in any show, anywhere, at any time, what would it be? With New York theaters remaining closed for the foreseeable future, Price and her guests explore what they love most about Broadway and how it forever changed who they were as children and who they became as adults. Through personal conversations, Eva explores her guests’ formative theater experiences, how their ambitions became reality, and what dream roles they hope to perform in the future.
The first installment features stage and screen star Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Fully Committed; “Modern Family”). Upcoming guests include Tony Award winner Ali Stroker (Oklahoma!; “GLEE”); Emmy and Tony winner Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole; “Sex & The City”), Mo Rocca (“CBS Sunday Morning”), and Katie Lowes (“Scandal”) and Adam Shapiro (“Never Have I Ever”).
