Enjoy a wild night (or two) with Club Cumming

On Thursday, August 13, Club Cumming – the hot queer intimate cabaret space in the East Village, co-founded by the multi-award-winning Scottish-born actor and LGBTQIA+ activist Alan Cumming – launches its first Virtual Variety Show at 8 pm, and it’s sure to be a night to remember! Well, actually, two nights to remember. Since all of the talent can’t fit into a single show, the club is presenting it as a two-part streaming event, with none other than the eponymous star serving as Master of Ceremonies (just as he did in his acclaimed role in the London and Broadway revivals of Cabaret).

The new digital series contains a full roster of superstars from the super-popular venue. Among the fabulous acts are comedians Catherine Cohen and Larry Owens (of A Strange Loop fame), alt-cabaret artist Kim David Smith, drag favorites Princess Brittany and House of Labeija’s Jasmine Rice Labeija, singer/songwriter Jill Sobule, and columnist Michael Musto, reading the poems of Suzanne Somers. They will be joined – remotely, of course – by Grammy winner Tim Young, Dragnificent’s Alexis Michelle with singer Brandon James Gwinn, the tragically hilarious Dina Martina, ADD Cabaret creator Angela Di Carlo, stand-up comic James Tison, the astonishing mentalist Jason Suran, The Richard Cortez Jazz Trio, and more.

Also scheduled to make appearances in the spectacular and diverse line-up are Pop sensation Bright Light Bright Light, Brooklyn comic Philip ‘Sparkle’ Markle, burlesque star Velvetina, singers Lauren Ordair, Ellia J. Garlands, Antony Cherry, Drew Brody, Xavier McKnight and Avionce Hoyles, and Emmy-winning comic Judy Gold. And if that weren’t enough, there will be a special man-on-the-street segment with Willie Dee, plus a special poolside appearance by RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Detox. So get ready to be dazzled – more than once!

The Club Cumming Virtual Variety Show, Part 1, plays Thursday, August 13, 8 pm, on looped, with limited live chats with Alan after the show. Part 2 will be announced at the end of the first installment. For tickets, go online.
