Young CityDance Conservatory Dancers win highest honors

At Youth America Grand Prix Boston Regional, CityDance School & Conservatory also receives Outstanding School and Grand Prix Awards.

CityDance School & Conservatory received the Outstanding School Award at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) Boston Regional Semi-finals March 19 – 21, 2021, at the Hanover Theatre in Worcester, MA. YAGP is the world’s largest international student dance competition and scholarship program. COVID precautions and safety regulations allowed this competition season to take place in person.

“It is very exciting and a huge honor to be selected from many regional organizations and to be named Outstanding School by YAGP, particularly in these very difficult and challenging times,” said Lorraine Spiegler, CityDance School & Conservatory Founding Artistic Director. “Our school is founded in the important values of equity, excellence, and providing unlimited opportunities to the young talented artists of tomorrow. CityDance Conservatory Dancers are already redefining the art of dance.”

CityDance Conservatory Dancers have participated in the 2020–2021 YAGP Regional Semi-finals in Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania. They have been awarded the highest honors at the competitions including a Hope Award and two Youth Grand Prix Awards. These awards are given to the dancers who, by the consensus of the jury panel, have exceeded all other dancers in classical and contemporary in their age division.

“It is remarkable that in this season our dancers have garnered two Youth Grand Prix Awards and one Hope Award,” said Stanisval Issaev, CityDance School & Conservatory Ballet Master and Nijinsky Award recipient. “These awards speak highly about the quality of training and the level  of presentation of our young dancers through outstanding choreography created especially for them, framing their individual personalities and gifts.”
