John Kander and Lin-Manuel Miranda in virtual conversation to support the Vineyard Theatre

Off-Broadway’s acclaimed Vineyard Theatre concludes its 2021 Gala Series on  Thursday, July 22, beginning at 7 pm, with a live watch party featuring a conversation between two of Broadway’s greatest living legends: John Kander (Cabaret; Chicago; The Scottsboro Boys – which made its debut at The Vineyard) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights; Hamilton).

In addition to watching the iconic composers offer insights into their personal writing processes, you will hear them reveal their favorite works from each other’s canon. Those chosen songs will then be performed by a roster of Broadway stars, including Mandy Gonzalez (In the Heights), Bryonha Marie Parham (Prince of Broadway), George Salazar (Be More Chill), Heidi Blickenstaff ([title of show]), and Brandon Victor Dixon (Rent Live).

The special pay-what-you-can fundraising event, directed by Jen Bender, with musical direction by Macy Schmidt and video design and editing by Scott James, gives viewers the option to chat with fellow audience members during Thursday’s live premiere. It will then be available on demand through 11:59 pm, on Sunday, July 25.

To book tickets (free, or for an amount of your choosing), go online. All proceeds will directly benefit Vineyard Theatre’s current season, virtual education programs, and reopening plans, providing critical support for its sustained operations.
