Need Theatre Posters, Programs, & Logos Designed for Your Show?
Meet Jim Gallagher of Drama Queen Graphics

    DQ logo_FA_facebook

I have had many of our readers ask me who designed our classy and colorful new logo, and the answer is Jim Gallagher of Drama Queen Graphics. So here’s a conversation with the area’s newest queen.

Joel: OK, what does Drama Queen do?
Jim: We save lives!! No seriously, Drama Queen Graphics creates customized graphic designs for stage productions.

    How does it work?
We have an existing collection of designs that we can customize with your production information. We also create brand new custom designs. Our designs become posters, programs, postcards, web graphics, tees or whatever else your production needs.

    It must cost a lot?
Not really. We have 300+ existing designs that are very budget-friendly. You can get a poster design for $50. Once we drop your data into the design, we send you a pdf file that you can do with as you please! Or we can help you get it printed. We’re easy. Our custom designs cost more but your design is tailor-made for your production. And we try to cater our fees to match your budget. Plus all custom designs come with our Triple Threat Package: poster, postcard and program cover.

Do you design logos? Create web graphics?
We just designed YOUR new DCMetroTheaterArts logo! Duh. (LOL!) Yes we do logos. We can also create all manner of web graphic.

Have we seen your work? Who are some of your clients?
We’ve done work across the country. We’ve recently been commissioned to create graphics for Steele Springs Theater Licensing out in California. We have many DC area clients like Young Artists of America, The Colonial Players, Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre, Dignity Players and St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

Who is Drama Queen? How long have you been in the industry?
I am head Queen. My name is Jim Gallagher and I’ve been in the design industry for 25 years and have been involved in the theater for over 30. I am an actor and director when I am not making pretty pictures. So I know design and I know theater. I also have a network of artists with whom I work.

    Who needs Drama Queen?
Who DOESN’T?! The obvious answer is anyone who needs help getting butts in seats. But more than helping with publicity, our work creates a visual identity for your show. We are a visual culture and unfortunately, your potential patrons can’t see a trailer before purchasing a ticket like they can with a film. True, they rely on reviews and word of mouth, but also rely on what they see. And all they see are the graphics that you produce. Beyond our creativity, there is our service. Many of our clients are volunteers and we make their lives so much easier.
