Actors’ Center to hold open call monologue auditions

Members and non-members alike can register to audition in person or virtually.

DC-area actors will have an opportunity to audition for dozens of directors and casting agents simultaneously for two days in February. The 2022 Actors’ Center Monologue Auditions will be held in person on Monday, February 7, from 10 am to 4 pm, at the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre and also live-streamed for auditors who cannot attend. Auditions will also be held virtually on Tuesday, February 8, from 12 pm to 6 pm, and streamed for all auditors.

During the auditions, actors will have 90 seconds to perform a monologue of their choice from theater, film, or television. The auditions will be recorded for the purpose of providing all actors with a copy of their audition after the event.

Up to 234 actors will be able to audition over the course of the two days. Generous support from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities has enabled the Actors’ Center to expand its one-day annual audition into a two-day hybrid event. The AC monologue auditions were last held in 2019.

Registration for the auditions opens on Monday, January 10, for Actors’ Center members, who will receive a link to register for a time slot and to upload their headshot and resume. Registration will be open for two weeks. Auditors will also be sent the registration link. In-person attendance on February 7 will be limited to 25 auditors. All attendees at the in-person event will be required to show proof of COVID vaccination.

Registration for non-members will open on Friday, January 14. If you are interested in auditioning but are not already an Actors’ Center member, follow this link to be added to the non-member pre-registration email list. If you are interested in registering as an auditor but are not an AC Associate, follow this link to be added to the auditor list.

You can also join the Actors’ Center prior to the closing of registrations to be automatically added to the email list, get first choice of audition slots, and take advantage of the AC’s multiple audition prep workshops, which are free for members ($30 for non-members).
