Mark your calendar for the 38th annual ‘Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction’ in the heart of NYC’s Theater District

Now in its 38th year, the popular Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction, a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, supported by corporate sponsors The New York Times and United Airlines, returns to NYC’s Theater District on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 10 am to 7 pm. The long-held tradition began nearly four decades ago with two tables set up by cast members and stage managers of A Chorus Line outside their stage door in Shubert Alley. Since 1987, the 37 annual editions have raised more than $18.7 million, with last year’s installment bringing in a record $1,237,179.

The outdoor event will feature tables on West 44th and West 45th Streets and a silent auction in Shubert Alley, both filled with treasures from Broadway and Off-Broadway shows and members of the New York theater community, and a live auction beginning at 5 pm in the Times Square pedestrian plaza between 45th and 46th Streets, with everything from one-of-a-kind memorabilia, autographed collectables, stage-used props, costume pieces, opening-night theater packages, and in-person experiences, including behind-the-scenes meet-and-greets, and more. Also returning are the highly anticipated Autograph Table and Photo Booth, with dozens of Broadway’s most celebrated luminaries welcoming their fans on the deck of Junior’s restaurant for up-close encounters, signings, and pictures.

Be sure to visit the Shubert Organization + Telecharge table to explore the Playbill collection, window cards, mementos, and unique treasures from the walls of the theaters and The Shubert Archive, and to have the rare opportunity to take home a piece of the recently renovated James Earl Jones and Majestic Theatres, with Shubert auctioning off a chandelier from the former Cort Theatre (renamed the James Earl Jones Theatre) and a VIP experience which includes a private tour of The Shubert Archive and complimentary house seats.

Among the other available items are opening night gifts, Tony voter packages, props, and scenic pieces from Appropriate, Bob Fosse’s DANCIN’, The Cottage, El Mago Pop, An Enemy of the People, Grey House, Gutenberg! The Musical!, Harmony, The Heart of Rock and Roll, Here Lies Love, How to Dance in Ohio, Illinoise, Kimberly Akimbo, Lempicka, Leopoldstadt, Merrily We Roll Along, Mother Play, Ohio State Murders, Once Upon a One More Time, Parade, Patriots, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, The Phantom of the Opera, The Piano Lesson, Prima Facie, Purlie Victorious, The Shark Is Broken, Shucked, The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window, Some Like It Hot, Spamalot, A Strange Loop, Take Me Out, Topdog/Underdog, and more.
