MOVEiUS Dance will present “Legacy: A Conversation Through Contemporary Ballet” TOMORROW, SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2013 at 2 pm, at the Sprenger Theatre at Atlas Performing Arts Center.
This is their newest evening-length program, established by emerging DC choreographers Natalie Smith, Florian Rouiller, Katya Vasilaky, and Diana Movius to inspire a conversation about future generations and the future of ballet. “Legacies” of ballet and society are examined. Each choreographer promotes a unique aspect of ballet’s stylistic legacy while asking: “What legacy—from global warming, to love, to hope—do we leave ourselves, others, and our community?
”MOVEiUS Dance is a dynamic young modern dance company, voted pick of the Fringe in 2012 that uses contemporary ballet to make abstract, current themes concrete to diverse audiences. Join this world premiere by a company that dance critic Lisa Traiger says presents “…challenging, attractive and adventuresome work.”
