Playwright Hunter Styles has created something truly special with Tell-Tale, a modern twist on Edgar Allan Poe’s classic short story. Directed by Carl Brandt Long and produced by Grains of Sand Theatre, this spooky modern play is a ‘must- see’ at Capital Fringe. It’s a fabulous fractured story that invites you to lose yourself in each character’s non-linear search for their version of the truth.
Together Hannah (Sara Bickler) and Logan (Matthew Ward) explore the mysterious connection binding them together as seemly random storylines weave in and out of each other with all of Poe’s suspense and flair for wicked drama. Charlie (Amal Saade) relentlessly searches for the truth and doesn’t let anyone order her around while Parker (John Strange) is brilliantly blase until it counts most.
Julie/Gibson (Pamela H. Leahigh) shines as multiple ensemble characters and slips as smoothly from each unique voice as a knife through butter. The cast has a spine-tingling chemistry and have created a vibrant, layered representation of what both the best and worst of humanity can look like. This is the perfect show for mystery lovers, fans of the supernatural, and anyone who longs to set their heart racing.
