Watch The Announcement of 47 Categories as The Helen Hayes Award Nominations are Announced Tonight at 7:30 PM-A Look Back at Last Year’s Awards

Live tonight from The National Theatre at 7:30 PM you can watch a  live webcast as theatreWashington unveils 47 categories of nominations for this year’s Helen Hayes Awards. Announcers includes 6 of DC theatre’s favorites: Christopher Henley (former Artistic Director of WSC Avant Bard) , Thembi Duncan (Producing Artistic Director of African Continuum Theatre Company), James Konicek (Actor), James Kronzer (Designer), JoJo Ruf (The Welders), and Kimberly Schraf (Actor).

This is the first time that the 2014 Awards Process will be effect, producing the 47 categories of nominations.

We will post the list of nominations when they become available -around 9 PM.

Joel also wrote a monthly preview of what was about to open in DC area theatres for BroadwayWorld. He is an avid film and theater goer, and a suffering Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan. Joel was a regular guest on 'The Lunch and Judy Show' radio program starring Judy Stadt in NYC. Joel founded The Ushers Theatre Going Group in the DC area in 1990, which had a 25-year run when it took its final curtain call last year. Joel is a proud member of The American Critics Association.
