If you’re a writer or an actor, you know how hard it is to show off your talent! This event is an opportunity to hear your work come to life and a place for actors to practice their craft.
Every Monday evening we will do staged readings of works in progress.
Actors show up and perform in front of a live audience every week!
Come on out if you want to network, socialize, and have a great time meeting filmmakers, playwrights, and actors. Or just come out for the free entertainment, cheap drinks, and excellent food. Bring your friends, all are welcome! This isn’t a writer’s circle, it’s an evening of live performances, and you don’t need to be a writer or an actor to enjoy a good show!
WHEN:
Every Monday evening at 6:30 pm.
Performances begin at 7:00 pm.
WHERE:
The Front Page Restaurant
4201 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22203
COST:
FREE to attend!
(Any food and drink purchases you make go directly to restaurant. Happy Hour until 7:00 pm.)
EVENT DETAILS:
Writers will show up with 10 pages or less from their newest work. It should be a play, movie, sketch, TV show, etc. (i.e. must have dialogue). The piece should be an excerpt from a work in progress, nothing published or already produced.
Writers must bring printed copies of their scripts for the actors, one for EACH cast member and one for stage direction/action. Writers must also bring one character list (just include names, genders, and ages) so that the parts can be cast quickly.
I will pair actors and writers together so that everyone gets a fair chance to perform or have work read. Don’t expect to cast your friends, necessarily, but make sure to bring them! They’ll have a great time and might be cast in someone else’s amazing piece. This is an opportunity to meet new people and hear brand new work!
