Preview: ‘A Christmas Carol’ at Charm City Ballet

While it’s “Nutcracker” season for most dance companies across the region, Charm City Ballet presents something unique: its original full-length ballet, A Christmas Carol, to be performed at The Gordon Center for Performing Arts, at 3506 Gwynbrook Ave in Owings Mills, on December 16th for two shows, 1:30 pm, and 7:30 pm. Ticket prices are: Adults $24 in advance; $26 at the door. Students/ children $18 in advance; $20 at the door.

Directors, founders and choreographers of Charm City Ballet, Rebecca Friedman and Peter Commander, are 2009 graduates of Goucher College where they studied and performed in the highly regarded dance department with both faculty and renowned guest artists. Their productions are unique in that community dancers from all walks of life perform together in high-quality ballet versions of familiar tales. Following their first sold out ballet, “A Christmas Carol” in December, 2015, CCB received acclaim from local publications, was a Baltimore Sun Critic’s Pick and was included in DC Theater Metro Arts’ list, “Best of 2015-Memorable Dance in Baltimore & Beyond.”  For more information and to purchase tickets, go to www.charmcityballet.com.
