Labor Day demonstration of ‘Arts Workers Unite’ in Times Square

On Monday’s “Labor Day of Action,” Be An #ArtsHero organized a nationwide movement of Arts Workers Unite, with theater professionals urging all US Senators to legislate a proportionate relief package to the arts and culture sector of the American economy. The largest of the demonstrations, captured by photographers Michaelah Reynolds and Ali Wonderly, was held in Times Square, with 100 socially-distanced and masked representatives from Broadway and the New York theater community gathering in-person to shine a spotlight on this crucial cause.

It’s not too late to add your name to the petition for an arts workers relief bill; if you’d like to sign, go online. You can also contact your Senator, to request support for the proposed government allocation for arts workers throughout the US.
