Lauren Marcus added to the June opening weekend of Feinstein’s/54 Below

As was previously announced, after the long pandemic shutdown, Feinstein’s/54 Below will be reopening its doors to live audiences on Thursday, June 17, with a starry roster of top artists from the Broadway and cabaret stages, beginning with the George Salazar and Joe Iconis hit Two-Player Game.

Since the initial summer schedule was released, Creative and Programming Director Jennifer Ashly Tepper has added even more must-see shows to the calendar, including 54 Sings Olivia Rodrigo, Broadway Celebrates the 4th of July, Edmund Bagnell, John Cardoza, Lilli Cooper, Jason Danieley, Andrew Barth Feldman, Ari Grooves, Jessie Hooker-Bailey and Gilbert L. Bailey II, Mauricio Martínez, Michael Mott, Alexander Sage Oyen, Nicole Vanessa Ortiz, Kyle Taylor Parker, Anthony Rapp, Jared Weiss, and Maria Wirries. The list keeps growing and the seats are selling out fast.

Already slated to make a special guest appearance on opening night in the 9:45 pm show Shakina Nayfack: Whatever Gets You Through It, singer/songwriter/actress Lauren Marcus (Brooke in Be More Chill; 2019 resident artist at downtown’s Rockwood Musical Hall) returns the following night, Friday, June 18, at 9:45 pm, bringing her own act to the opening weekend line-up. Featuring a set of original songs inspired by ‘60s  pop, ‘70s troubadours, and current indie rock, Marcus’s unique vocal style, engaging melodies, expressive lyrics, and effervescent personality combine the best of the pop/folk/rock-n-roll past with a signature sound, message, and vibe that are completely today. She will be backed by her band of NYC musicians, in their Feinstein’s/54 Below debut.

As anxious as her fans are to see her again live (though she has kept everyone entertained throughout the pandemic with her virtual concerts and videos), Lauren has expressed that she’s just as anxious to be back performing her own music for an in-house audience at the iconic midtown nightclub. Before the opening, or if you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets to the sold-out show (we can only hope that more performances will be scheduled soon), you can enjoy the video of Lauren’s self-penned fan favorite “(I Got) The One That Got Away (Back)” from her 2016 debut EP Never Really Done with You here:

Lauren Marcus plays on Friday, June 18, 9:45 pm, at Feinstein’s/54 Below, 254 West 54th Street, cellar, NYC. Tickets are currently sold out, but to inquire about the waiting list, call (646) 476-3551, or go online for more information. If you have tickets, be advised that all guests will be required to show proof of vaccination before entering the club.
