Mark William and The Boy Band Project coming soon to NYC’s Chelsea Table + Stage

Though its launch was put on hold by the pandemic closure of public venues in 2020, NYC’s newest high-end supper club, Chelsea Table + Stage, located in the lower level of the Hilton New York Fashion District, opened in September 2021, to offer both locals and tourists a hotspot for intimate dining and a serious listening room with the best of live music and acoustics.

In addition to providing patrons with a curated wine list, specialty cocktails, and a wide variety of distinctive upscale American menu items from Executive Chef Eric Purugganan (born and raised in Alaska, and in the culinary business for over 25 years), music-loving audiences of different generations can also enjoy some of the best touring performers in the world, along with emerging artists and acclaimed NYC favorites presenting a diverse range of musical genres.

Featuring a glamourous interior, traditional hospitality, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, a ten-seat in-theater bar, lofted VIP mezzanine for private groups, and table seating, the club is open every night, with an ever-changing menu and entertainment schedule from the worlds of pop, folk, country, soul, jazz, and more, ensuring that repeat visitors will never have the same experience twice. Among the top award-winning musical talents appearing this month are vocalist and recording artist Mark William; and The Boy Band Project, reimagining the sound, movement, and energy of the guy-group phenomenon of the ’90s and beyond.

William will bring his unique style of youthful new-age crooning to romantic classics from the Golden Age of Broadway, The Great American Songbook, Hollywood movies, and pop music in Mark William: Love Sings! – a Valentine’s concert on Monday, February 14, at 7 pm. Directed by Preston and Richard Ridge, with arrangements by Clint Edwards and musical direction by Andrew Morrissey, the one-night-only event will precede Mark’s Spring 2022 concert tour, which will take him from coast to coast across the US.

Mark told me, “I am so excited to be making my debut at Chelsea Table + Stage with a special Valentine’s Day show. It’s a great opportunity for New York audiences to see me embrace a new venue – still giving the intimacy they expect, but with a surprise or two unique to this new space. Mark William: Love Sings! will be a romantic celebration of love and relationships, full of great songs from classic Hollywood and Broadway to contemporary pop. Whether you’re bringing a special someone or just looking for a night of entertainment, this show will leave you walking on air.”

On Sunday, February 27, at 2 pm, The Boy Band Project will begin its residency at Chelsea Table + Stage with the popular Boy Band Brunch, which will be presented every other weekend thereafter, by rotating members of the group from Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theater, delivering their own special brand of homage and humor. With a signature mix of flawless vocal harmonies, tight choreography, and sex appeal, they’ll be spreading the boy-band love with their sizzling covers of hits by NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Hanson, One Direction, 98 Degrees, Boyz II Men, Jonas Brothers, and others, and performances of their own original songs, written just for them by collaborator Michael Mott.

The premiere date will feature performers Nic Metcalf, Chris Messina, Chris Brasfield, and Sam Harvey, with BBP founder Travis Nesbitt (currently providing entertainment with another roster of Boys on the Celebrity Millennium cruise through February 21) producing the show behind the scenes. He feels that “The new venue is spectacular and will eventually give us the ability to make Boy Band Brunch a truly immersive experience.” Chris agreed, saying, “Chelsea Table + Stage is a musician’s venue. Performing our show outside of the theater district will expose us to a whole new audience.” And Sam noted, “Brunch is a sacred New York tradition, so being a part of that sacred ceremony while shaking my booty and singing boy-band songs is an honor. Boy bands and glorious breakfast food?! Someone pinch me. I couldn’t be happier to be returning to Boy Band Brunch, and at such a cool venue.” [As much as you’ll be tempted, please don’t actually pinch him; sighs, smiles, wild cheering, and applause should do it].
