THE SEASON

Something Rotten
Oct 6 – 29, 2023
Welcome to the Renaissance and this outrageous, crowd-pleasing musical farce! Two brothers set out to write the world’s first musical in this hilarious mash-up of sixteenth-century Shakespeare and twenty-first-century Broadway. Something Rotten was hailed by Time Out New York as “the funniest musical comedy in at least 400 years”!

White Christmas
Nov 24 – Dec 24, 2023
Based on the beloved 1954 film, this musical adaptation features the music of Irving
Berlin. White Christmas is the perfect start to the holiday season, with a heartwarming classic full of love and laughter.

A Christmas Carol

Gypsy
April 12 – May 5, 2024
Generally regarded as the finest musical ever created, Gypsy is the ultimate tale of an ambitious stage mother fighting for her daughter’s success while secretly yearning for her own. Arthur Laurents’ landmark show explores the world of two-bit show business with brass, humor, heart, and sophistication.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)
May 14 – Aug 27, 2024
All 37 plays in 97 minutes! Three madcap men in tights weave their wicked way through all of Shakespeare’s comedies, histories, and tragedies in one wild ride that will leave you breathless and helpless with laughter! Featured in the outdoor courtyard at Reynolds Tavern in Annapolis.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream
July 11 – July 28, 2024
Shakespeare’s most popular romantic comedy is set in an enchanted forest where fairies control the fate of sparring lovers, and a group of amusing amateur actors put on a play. Join CTM under the stars for its 8th annual epic outdoor Shakespeare production in Classic Theatre of Maryland’s signature style. Featured at Londontowne’s historic Gresham Estate, one of Anne Arundel County’s most delightful outdoor venues.

ABOUT CLASSIC THEATRE OF MARYLAND

Classic Theatre of Maryland is Anne Arundel County’s only year-round professional regional theatre company. CTM’s creative team and resident and guest artists bring Broadway, Broadway National and International Tours, and London’s West End credentials to Classic Theatre of Maryland.

CTM presents over 170 live performances annually at three venues — its 125 seat Main Stage at 1804 West Street in Annapolis, as well as the outdoor courtyard at Reynolds Tavern on Tuesdays throughout the summer, and the lawn of the historic Gresham Estate in Edgewater for three weekends in July.

In addition, CTM produces an original monthly Cabaret Series in its 75-seat intimate Cabaret Room with full bar and dining options from restaurant partners. The Cabarets are in partnership with the Unified Jazz Ensemble and feature CTM resident artists along with special guest appearances by current Broadway performers and regional jazz vocalists. CTM’s Cabarets feature the greatest hits from the decades of the 1920s through the 1980s, American Jazz Standards, Latin Standards, The Songbook Series, The Blues, The Best of Broadway, and more. For the 2023/24 season, CTM’s Cabaret series is expanding to two shows per month, performed back-to-back on Monday and Tuesday.

Season subscriptions are now available online for CTM’s 2023/24 Main Stage Season as well as our Cabaret Series. Subscription benefits include a 20% discount on all Main Stage productions, Cabaret add-on discounts, priority seating, and concierge Box Office service, invitations to special events, reserved seats for the season in both the Main Stage and Cabaret Room.
