NSO announces star-studded cast for ‘RENT in Concert’

National Symphony Orchestra world premiere to feature Tony winners and nominees.

The National Symphony Orchestra has announced casting of the symphonic world premiere performances of RENT in Concert. Tony Award–nominated actress Lorna Courtney (& Juliet) sings the part of Mimi Márquez. Courtney joins previously announced Dear Evan Hansen alums Andrew Barth Feldman (No Hard Feelings) and Alex Boniello (Spring Awakening), who will sing the parts of Mark Cohen and Roger Davis, respectively. Tony Award–winning actors Ali Stroker (Oklahoma!) will sing as Maureen Johnson and Myles Frost (MJ: The Musical) will sing as Benjamin “Benny” Coffin III. Jimmie Herrod (America’s Got Talent) will sing the part of Angel Dumott Schunard.

The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) announced previously that the performances will be led by Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke and directed by Sammi Cannold, July 26–28, 2023. This newly created concert version of the hit musical is orchestrated by Sean O’Loughlin. RENT in Concert is created and produced by AMP Worldwide and licensed by Music Theatre International.
