Get in line at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre for discount tickets to ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ on Friday, September 1

To mark the occasion of the Hogwarts Express departing from Platform 9 and ¾ at London’s King’s Cross Station for the start of a new term at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the record-breaking award-winning hit Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is celebrating “Back to Hogwarts” with a special ticket offer on Friday, September 1.

When the box office at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre, located in the heart of NYC’s Theater District at 214 West 43rd Street, opens at 10 am, the first 50 tickets for that evening’s 7 pm performance will be sold for $9.75, with a limit of two tickets per person. There will also be special gifts and surprise giveaways for those in line that morning. Fans who are in line at 10 am, but don’t get the special Platform 9 and ¾ pricing after the 50 specially priced tickets have sold out, will still have the opportunity to buy discounted tickets at the box office, at the $40 “Friday Forty” price level for that same performance.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the first Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. Adapted by Thorne and directed by Tiffany, the play has sold over 5 million tickets worldwide and holds a record 60 major honors, with nine Laurence Olivier Awards and six Tony Awards, including Best New Play in both London and New York. So if you want to be astonished by the wizarding world of this magical show and partake of Friday’s mind-blowing ticket price, be sure to get in line early!
