Nominations for Broadway’s 2026 Tony Awards

The American Theatre Wing’s 79th Annual Tony Awards nominations were announced by Uzo Aduba and Darren Criss at 9:00 this morning (Tuesday, May 5), live from the Sofitel New York, with a selection broadcast on CBS Mornings and streaming on Paramount+ at 8:30 am. 

The cut-off date for eligible Broadway productions of the 2025-26 season was April 26, 2026. Leading the nominations in the 26 competitive categories are The Lost Boys and Schmigadoon! with twelve nominations each, followed by Ragtime with eleven. 

In addition to the competitive awards nominations, special awards honorees were previously announced. Mary-Mitchell Campbell will receive the 2026 Isabelle Stevenson Award for her advocacy work through the arts; André Bishop, Jules Fisher, and James Lapine will be awarded for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre; and the awards for Excellence in the Theatre will go to 1/52 Project, Jake Bell, Kenn Lubin, and Loren Plotkin.
