Live from the Museum of Broadway this morning at 10, stage and screen stars Isa Briones (Just in Time; “The Pitt”) and Sepideh Moafi (New Born; “The Pitt”) announced the nominations in 26 categories for the 2026 Outer Critics Circle Awards for Broadway and Off-Broadway. Founded during the 1949-50 Broadway season by theater journalist John Gassner, the Outer Critics Circle (of which I am a voting member) is the official organization of writers on NYC theater for out-of-town, national, and digital news publications, led by its current Board Officers David Gordon (President), Richard Ridge (Vice President), Joseph Cervelli (Recording Secretary), Patrick Hoffman (Corresponding Secretary), and David Roberts (Treasurer).

Leading this year’s nominations are The Lost Boys with eleven, followed by Mexodus with ten and Schmigadoon! with eight. Because they received top OCC honors or nominations in previous seasons, only new elements of the following Broadway productions are eligible: Liberation, Titanique, and Cats: The Jellicle Ball. In addition, Mamma Mia, Beetlejuice, Rob Lake Magic with Special Guests The Muppets, and All Out: Comedy About Ambition were not considered eligible.
