TONIGHT at 8 PM, Helen Hayes Award recipient Ed Dixon will be performing at Signature Theatre’s ARK Theatre. Accompanied by Gabe Mangiante, Ed will present a compilation of stories from his autobiography, Secrets of a Life On Stage… and Off accompanied by songs from his various musicals with special material created specifically for the act. The book documents his forty-two year career on Broadway and his many successes and failures as an actor, singer, lyricist, book writer, teacher and composer.
Ed Dixon has been featured on Broadway in Anything Goes, Mary Poppins, Sunday in the Park with George, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, The Iceman Cometh, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Les Miserables, Cyrano, The Three Musketeers, King of Schnorrers, No, No, Nanette and Bernstein’s Mass. Drama Desk nomination for Shylock which he adapted and composed.
Ed is also the recipient of a Helen Hayes Award for the role of Max in Sunset Boulevard at Signature Theatre. Ed is the author/composer of Cather County (Leon Rabin Award), Richard Cory (NYMF festival and audience prize), Fanny Hill (Drama Desk nomination), Whodunit…The Musical and Cloak and Dagger.
