Talk Back This Saturday With David Emerson Toney and Michael J. Bobbitt at Port City Playhouse

Enjoy a special talkback with playwright David Emerson Toney and Adventure Theatre/MTC’s Producing Artistic Director Michael Bobbitt after the 8pm performance of The Soul Collector on Saturday, November 10th. Performance tickets for the 8pm show are required to attend the talkback. The cast and director, Deidra Starnes, will also appear during the talkback. Audience questions will be welcomed at the end of the discussion.

His film and television writing credits include: staff writer for Fox’s In Living Color, screenwriter for New Line Cinema’s House Party 3, head writer and story editor for ESPN, Sony Wonder and Jumbo Pictures. In 1995, Toney was co-winner of the “Script to Screen” screenplay competition, sponsored by the Independent Feature Project and Writers Guild of America for his screenplay Sticks and Stones.

Michael J. Bobbitt.

Michael J. Bobbitt is the Producing Artistic Director of Adventure Theatre MTC in Glen Echo and Rockville, MD.  Michael has directed, choreographed and performed at many theatres in the DC region, including Arena Stage, Ford’s Theatre Society, The Shakespeare Theatre Company, Signature Theatre, Metro Stage, Rorshach Theatre Company, Studio Theatre, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Center Stage, Roundhouse Theatre, The Music Center at Strathmore, The Kennedy Center, The Helen Hayes Awards and the Washington National Opera. His national and international credits include the NY Musical Theatre Festival, Mel Tillis 2001, Jefferson Performing Arts Center, and 1996 Olympics. He studied creative writing and music at Susquehanna University and theater and dance at The Washington Ballet, The Dance Theatre of Harlem, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy and NY University’s Tisch School of the Arts (Cap 21).  He is a member of the Dramatist Guild of America and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
