Gay Men’s Chorus Presents ‘Winter Nights’ Tomorrow and Saturday at Lisner Auditorium by Taunee Grant

Welcome the holiday season in style, with bold backdrops, stunning costumes and lights, dancers, and a Chorus of over 200 singers. Winter Nights proves to be one of the biggest – if not the biggest – holiday shows ever presented by the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC.

Enjoy traditional choral music and carols accompanied by the Virginia Bronze handbell ensemble, including “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “Christmas Day, “Oh Come All Ye Faithful” with candlelight processional, and “Winter Nights,” a love story composed for GMCW by local musicians Tom Nichols & Dan Chadburn.

Then, enjoy the Chorus’s wilder side with a pageant of glittering winter “Rockettes,” a colorful and thrilling Bollywood number, the hauntingly beautiful “Carol From an Irish Cabin,” and even a visit from Mrs. Claus with the song “Santa Won’t You Please Come Back?”

Winter Nights is playing on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 8 pm and Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 3 pm (ASL) and 8 pm at Lisner Auditorium – 730 21st Street NW, in Washington, DC. For tickets, order them by phone (202) 293-1548, or purchase them online.
