About CityDance

citydancelogo

Since 1996, CityDance has brought dance to the nation’s capital by reaching out to the community, into the studio and onto the professional stage. CityDance’s Community Programs, offered at over 30 community-based sites in the region’s most under-resourced neighborhoods, provide free performances to over 5,000 students each year; in-school and after-school programs to 750 students every week; and camps to over 400 students every summer. The CityDance School and Conservatory, located at The Music Center at Strathmore provides dance training to over 450 students every week and prepares its Conservatory students for professional dance careers.

CityDance OnStage brings highly acclaimed national and international companies to the region’s most prestigious performance venues; enables emerging choreographers, local and beyond, to create and perform original work in the CityDance Studio Theater at Strathmore and other small area venues; and provides an unparalleled opportunity for CityDance’s students – from our community programs to our pre-professional programs – to work with and perform alongside professionals artists.
