Monumental Theatre Company is a new professional nonprofit theatre company in the DC area run by Jimmy Mavrikes, Michael Windsor, and Beth Amann. In their senior year at Catholic University Beth and Jimmy ran the student run theatre company, CenterStage. They met with Michael and shared dreams of running a theatre company together.

Monumental Theatre Company is actually formerly known as Limelight Theatre Company which produced The Last Five Years in 2010. This would be their final production. Limelight Theatre Company director Jay D. Brock, professor at Catholic University offered the three the chance to run this company since all of the former Limelight Board of Directors found other interests. Professor Brock said he saw ambition and potential in the young trio and wanted to see someone making use of the nonprofit.

Our theatre company’s mission is to present socially significant theatrical material that is both thought provoking and emotionally striking to every audience member. By definition monumental means, “great in importance, extent, or size.”Our goal is to produce works that are significant, reach a wide variety of theatre goers, and to develop a presence that continues to grow in and aid in the growth of the D.C. community.
