SHAKESPEARE THEATRE COMPANY OPENS ITS DOORS FOR A BRAND NEW EVENT: THE 25TH ANNIVERSARY FREE FOR ALL FESTIVAL
WHAT: The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) hosts the 25th Anniversary Free For All Festival, a new day-long celebration of the beloved annual tradition that has brought free Shakespeare to more than 665,000 theatregoers since Free For All was launched in 1991.
On the final weekend of the Free For All production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Ethan McSweeny, STC will open its doors to fans of all ages, thanking them for supporting STC and Free For All over the years, and giving them up-close-and-personal opportunities to interact with the Company.

Events Include:
- Backstage tours (10 a.m.–11:45 a.m., starting every 15 minutes)
- A Mini-Summer Night’s Dream (12 p.m. and 3 p.m., STC’s abridged version of the Shakespearean classic, geared toward ages 5-10, in the Forum in Sidney Harman Hall)
- Stage Combat Demonstration (1 p.m., with STC Affiliated Teaching Artists Paul Hope and Eva Wilhelm, in the Forum)
- A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2 p.m. and 8 p.m., see ShakespeareTheatre.org/FFA for ticket distribution information)
- Stage “Blood and Guts” Demonstration (4:30 p.m., with STC Lead Props Artisan Chris Young, in the Forum)
- Meet the Fairies! (4:45 p.m.–5:15 p.m., pictures and autographs with several A Midsummer Night’s Dream cast members, in the Orchestra Lobby)
- Props “Petting Zoo,” Costume Display, “Dress Like a Fairy” Booth, Crafts and more! (10 a.m.–5 p.m., outside and inside Sidney Harman Hall)
- Drewmaturgy: A Conversation with STC Literary Manager Drew Lichtenberg (5:30 p.m., in the Forum)
