Spice up your holidays with ‘Paige Turner: Jingle All the Way!’ at The Green Room 42

It’s a holly jolly raunchy campy Christmas in Paige Turner: Jingle All the Way!, back at The Green Room 42 for a second year of holiday fun. Created and performed by the New York drag sensation (Slurp!) with special guests Remy Germinario and James Mills, the themed cabaret (with a plot!) is filled with mounds of presents, parodies of popular songs, and loads of irreverent laughs that are guaranteed to make your season bawdy and bright.

Be sure to bring your camera and keys, and your naughtiest sense of humor, for a rousing take on the holidays and some spirited segments of audience participation (the taking of photos during the show is strictly encouraged by both the venue and the cast). It’s an up-close and intimate encounter with the stars, as they move through the room, around the stage, and across space and time with the aid of a magical snow globe, making their way through Christmas shopping and gift giving, while engaging in audacious off-color banter and belting out such old favorites as “Feliz Navidad,” “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer,” “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas,” and “Let It Snow,” with new risqué lyrics and updated references to our current culture of online hook-ups, the #Me Too movement, and presidential politics.

Backed by a pre-recorded score, aided by some suggestive seasonal props, and costumed in a dazzling array of gay apparel in the Christmas colors of red and green and angelic white, the hilarious and harmonious trio never once fails to fill the house with cheer – or salacious thoughts! Germinario, a popular stand-up comic and award-winning actor, is adorably impish as the elfin Dante, who turns in a provocative duet with Turner (and a couple of well-placed candy canes) on “We’re a Couple of Misfits” and elicits our sympathy and “awwws” with his mischievous well-feigned insecurities. And the terrific James Mills channels the ghost of Carol Channing in a spot-on impersonation of the late Broadway icon that combines humor and homage (as does Turner in an over-the-top video that had me, and the rest of the audience, howling).

There are two more chances this month to catch Paige Turner: Jingle All the Way!, so don’t be a drag, or do come in drag – but either way, don’t miss out on all the fun.

Running Time: Approximately 70 minutes, without intermission.

Paige Turner: Jingle All the Way! plays December 6, 13 and 19, 2019, at The Green Room 42 – 570 10th Avenue, Yotel, 4th floor, NYC. For tickets, call (646) 707-2990, or purchase them online.
