Ford’s Theatre Society has announced full casting for Come From Away: In Concert at the Lincoln Memorial, a free one-night-only concert presentation of the Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical Come From Away on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, September 10, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. The event is rain or shine.
Members of the Broadway and national touring companies of Come From Away will star in this 100-minute concert in honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The production is recommended for ages 10 and older. Tickets are not required. Lawn seating is available on a first-come basis. More information about attending the concert is below.
The Ford’s Theatre concert presentation features Josh Breckenridge (Bob and others), Kevin Carolan (Claude and others), Harter Clingman (Oz and others), Nick Duckart (Kevin J., Ali and others), Chamblee Ferguson (Nick, Doug and others), Sharriese Hamilton (Hannah and others), Christine Toy Johnson (Diane and others), Julia Knitel (Janice and others), Tony LePage (Kevin T., Garth and others), Happy McPartlin (Beulah and others), Julie Reiber (Beverley, Annette and others), and Sharone Sayegh (Bonnie and others).
The concert band is led by Conductor Cam Moncur on Keyboard, Accordion and Harmonium. The band also features Ben Power on Whistles, Irish Flute, Uilleann Pipes; Caitlin Warbelow on Fiddle; Alec Berlin on Electric and Acoustic Guitars; Nate Lueck on Acoustic Guitar, Mandolins, Bouzouki; Carl Carter on Electric and Acoustic Bass; Romano Di Nillo on Bodhran and Percussion; Larry Lelli on Drums and Percussion; and Associate Conductor Chris Ranney.

About Come From Away
Come From Away tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 global airline passengers who were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, on September 11, 2001. In a heartbeat, the small town on the edge of the world doubled in size. Cultures clashed and nerves ran high, but uneasiness turned into trust, music soared into the night, and gratitude grew into enduring friendships. Featuring a rousing score of folk and rock, Come From Away honors the better angels of our nature, revealing hope and humanity in a time of darkness.
Come From Away: In Concert at the Lincoln Memorial marks the return of live performance for Ford’s Theatre and the first time since March 2020 that music from the musical will be performed publicly for a live audience in the United States. Prior to its Broadway run, Come From Away had a sold-out, record-breaking East Coast premiere at Ford’s Theatre in September 2016.
Attending the Concert
EVENT DATE: September 10, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. Rain or shine.
LOCATION: The Lincoln Memorial is located at 2 Lincoln Memorial Circle, NW, Washington, D.C. It is found at the western end of the National Mall. The concert will be presented on a stage built on the lower steps of the Lincoln Memorial, facing outward toward the Reflecting Pool.
TICKETS: No tickets required. Event is free.
SEATING: First-come public seating is available on the grassy areas found on either side of the Reflecting Pool. Two large screens on either side of the stage and audio speakers will ensure that thousands may experience the event. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs.
PUBLIC RESTROOMS: Public restrooms and handwashing stations are available on either side of the Reflecting Pool. Wheelchair accessible restrooms are available.
ACCESSIBILITY: Come From Away: In Concert at the Lincoln Memorial is accessible to persons with disabilities, offering limited wheelchair accessible seating on a first-come basis. Sign Language interpretation will be provided for the concert and is viewable to the public on the large screens on either side of the concert stage. Handicapped parking is located on the south side of the Lincoln Memorial.
COVID-19 SAFETY: Current guidance from the National Park Service states that social distancing and the use of face masks are required in outdoor crowded areas, including on the National Mall, regardless of vaccination status. Due to the evolving nature of the pandemic, event safety requirements may change. Please visit the concert website for the most up-to-date information.
METRO: Public transportation is the best option for reaching the Lincoln Memorial. The nearest Metro stations are Foggy Bottom (23rd St. and I St. NW) and Smithsonian (12th St and Independence Ave. SW). PARKING: Limited street parking is available along Ohio Drive SW, between the Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson Memorials. Bus parking is available primarily along Ohio Drive SW near the Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson Memorials and along Ohio Drive SW in East Potomac Park.
The filmed version of the Tony and Olivier Award-winning hit musical Come From Away will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, September 10. The live performance of Come From Away was filmed at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in May in New York City, where the Broadway production is staged — for an audience that included 9/11 survivors and front-line workers — and employed over 200 people including members of the Broadway crew, staff and creative teams.

The North American Tour of Come From Away will resume performances October 5, 2021, in Memphis, visiting 36 cities including a return to Washington, DC, at the National Theatre April 12–17, 2022.
