2-for-1 tickets for NYC Broadway Week and updated COVID-19 protocols

After a two-year hiatus during the pandemic, NYC Broadway Week – a twice-yearly celebration produced by NYC & Company in partnership with The Broadway League since it was inaugurated in 2011 – returns this winter with its signature 2-for-1 ticket deals, sponsored by Mastercard, to performances of some of the best plays and musicals on the Broadway stage, from Tuesday, January 18-Sunday, February 13.

Bookings are now open for the following eighteen shows* participating in this year’s special Broadway Week offers: Aladdin, The Book of Mormon, Chicago, Come From Away, Company, David Byrne’s American Utopia, Dear Evan Hansen, Girl From the North Country, Hadestown, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Lion King, MJ The Musical, Moulin Rouge!, The Phantom of the Opera, Skeleton Crew, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Wicked.

*Shortly after this article was posted, it was announced that two of the participating shows will be closing. To Kill a Mockingbird, the most successful show in Broadway history since its opening in 2018, will end its run at the Shubert Theatre on Sunday, January 16, with plans to reopen at the Belasco Theatre on Wednesday, June 1. Girl from the North Country, now playing at the Belasco, will conclude its current engagement there on Sunday, January 23, and is currently in talks with the Shubert Organization to reopen at another of its theaters in the spring.

Please note that tickets are made available in limited quantities and the discount is applicable only for select seats at each production’s discretion. There is a two-ticket minimum per purchase for the NYC Broadway Week discount; rather than one free ticket for every full-price ticket, all tickets will be issued at 50% off their original price (plus applicable taxes and fees). Certain select seats that usually have a higher price are considered Upgraded Tickets and will be available at $125 per ticket.

To purchase tickets, visit the official NYC Broadway Week page. You can browse the entire lineup of participating productions or filter by genre, family-friendly shows, and Tony Award winners.

In order to maintain the highest safety standards, The Broadway League announced this week that the owners and operators of all 41 Broadway theaters in NYC are extending mask and vaccine requirements through April 30, 2022. And now that COVID-19 vaccines are available for children under 12, the theaters will also require full vaccinations for those ages 5-11 years old for all performances beginning on January 29, 2022, in accordance with the Key to NYC Guidelines.

Along with proof of full vaccination status, ticketholders 18 and over must present a government-issued photo ID; those ages 12-17 may use a government-issued ID or school ID, with no photo required. Vaccinated children ages 5–11 may enter the theater only when accompanied by an adult who complies with the vaccination entry requirements; children under 5, when accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult, may enter the theater with either a negative COVID-19 PCR test performed by a medical provider within 72 hours of the performance start time or a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test taken within 6 hours. The test results must clearly show the date and time of the test.

In addition to the updated safety protocol, The Broadway League will continue the Buy With Confidence program that allows for flexible exchanges and refunds of tickets. For additional information, visit the website or contact your point of purchase for the individual shows.
