Observing the anniversary of its 90th year, The Little Theatre of Alexandria (LTA) will take on a wide range of topics and issues in its productions and staged readings during the 2024/25 season, including rock ‘n’ roll in the 1950s; women striving for recognition of their work; gothic horror and transformation; the road to redemption; the adventures of a big, green guy and a helpful donkey; courtship and scandal by William Shakespeare; a British farce; and an iconic tale of American independence.

Located in the heart of Old Town, LTA has been providing a variety of musicals, dramas, and comedies to audiences in the regional community for nearly 90 years and is extremely proud to have produced shows throughout the COVID period, never actually closing its doors, employing reduced audience size, realistic masking, and immunization protocols, as well as enhanced safety guidelines for the cast and crew of each show.

The lineup of productions in the 2024/25 season includes:

  • Memphis: July 20-August 10, 2024 (Musical)
  • The Explorers Club: August 31-September 21, 2024

Having been a major part of LTA for more than 30 years, its Education Program offers a comprehensive year-round schedule of classes, camps, and workshops attended by students of all ages, with the youngest thespians-in-training being just three years old.

The Little Theatre of Alexandria seeks to create a vibrant and thriving artistic space where its members, volunteers, and greater community can engage in rewarding theatrical experiences that entertain, educate, and build community pride and spirit.  Having been a landmark in Old Town Alexandria for nearly 90 years, it is the oldest award-winning theater in the Washington Metro Area and one of the few community theaters in the country with its own building and an ambitious seven-show season.

Proud of its heritage and role in Northern Virginia, LTA is pleased to celebrate its rich past and looks forward to staging first-rate productions for the next hundred years.
