Encore Stage & Studio’s mission is to build a lifelong appreciation for live theater by involving young people in all aspects of theater arts – onstage, backstage, in the classroom, and in the audience. To date, Encore has produced over 175 shows. Last season, over 200 young people participated as cast or crew members and almost 10,000 people enjoyed Encore’s performances.

Today, Encore has grown to include our production season and school year education classes and summer programs. Encore presents five fully realized productions each year under the guidance and direction of experienced theater professionals. Encore is unique in offering dramatic productions in which every actor and every behind–the-scenes technician is a young person under 18 years of age. Act III, our summer production program, casts youth ages 15 and older, as well as college students and adult community members. Encore’s multi-age structure encourages mentoring and role modeling between older and younger participants. Our production opportunities are provided to participants at no cost.
