Editor’s Note: Last night the powerful show on the effects suicide has on a family, called Masquerade, was presented as a benefit for Community Crisis Services and PFLAG Metro DC for their suicide prevention efforts!

Masquerade, a show written and directed by William Leary, is a revelation of reality. The show provides a snapshot into the lives of a family reeling with grief and loss following the suicide of a brother/son/grandson.
One moment you are in the church with a family as they prepare final arrangements, and the next you are chilled by the gamut of emotions that come after the death of a loved one.
You will experience the important message learned from the tragic loss of life. Suicide is a serious matter. Masquerade provides exposure to the raw emotions felt by a family following the loss of a loved.
Additionally, it provides lessons on how not to ignore this silent killer that is suicide. Through the revelation of secrets and guilt, a family is torn apart as they rediscover themselves and one another while learning the hard lesson of not just hearing one another, but to truly listen to one another.
This show, with performances by Sarah K. Scott, Carol V. Calhoun, Kelley Richards, Tim Jansen, Alie Kamra, and Lauren Giglio, is a must see for all.
Running Time: About two hours, including a 15-minute intermission.
